About the Theater

Sunrise Cinemas at Gateway is located at the intersection of East Sunrise Blvd @ US 1 North between NE 18th & 19th Avenues in Fort Lauderdale.

We are the city's oldest (opened in 1951) and most traditional venue for fine art, foreign, and independent film,as well as the occasional Hollywood blockbuster. See many attractions here you don't find anywhere else around! Enjoy our comfort and ambiance at one of Fort Lauderdale's first landmarks. The Gateway has been going strong for more than 50 years due in part to its reputation as a community center. A true theatre experience!
